A2z server after 1.8 update

A lot of players want to know whats going to happen after the 1.8 update and we have put a plan together that seems to incorporate most things people have suggested on the forum topic. Please understand that it is impossible to keep everyone happy and that we can only do our best! Here is the plan…
First of all After the 1.8 update everyone should update their Minecraft clients straight away as the server will be updated due to this update being too popular for us to wait for Bukkit to release a compatible build. We will be using a brand new 1.8 map and everyone is advised to group together and just enjoy the 1.8 adventure update. During the time between the 1.8 update and bukkit updating our current world will have the city copied and pasted onto a fresh 1.8 map that will be loaded onto a temporary server that Joe, temp and myself will be working on. The plan is to make vast improvements to the look, layout and navigation of the current city, converting it into a grid system so that more players can have plots inside the city itself (the picture above shows a very early design). During this work most peoples land inside the city may get removed/changed which we can only apologize for. If you have any buildings that you REALLY want transfered over to the new world then fill out the funky fresh form below with the coordinates and if possible pictures and we will try our hardest to incorporate them into the new world or at least copy and save them for a later date 
After bukkit does update the new city map will be loaded as the main world and the one you had all been playing on will be uploaded as a multiverse to allow everyone to bring their items and buildings back to the main world.
So there it is, thats the plan and hopefully it will go as smooth as possible. If you have any further thoughts/suggestions post them in the comments.

Ahh just read the multiverse part
so im guessing my money is safe too lol.
I would REALLY appreciate it if my house in the city was copied as i worked really hard on the lower levels underground down to bedrock and laura worked on the house its self, so i think i speak for both of us when i ask for it to be saved
– Also im not sure on the co-ordinates i just know that its next to the starter apartments, next to kays house, near a creeper head its made out of sandstone and if you want to make your job easier type:
/warp deccahome — that will take you straight to it!

Would it be possible to have mine and fm_smiley’s underground, mountain house to be copied; whether it’s put onto the new server or not, I would like a copy of the house so we can recreate it on the new map and use it as a basis of our building. We worked really hard on the nightclub especially! (All that coloured wool and iron blocks!)
So could you get back to me on the matter? I can’t log onto the server to give you coordinates or pictures as it says my connection is being refused. But the location of the house is near Box’s massive walled off area. Joe and Cuzic have been to the area before and have seen it. So hopefully that helps!

Does this mean everything outside the city will be lost?

You should also post the world(s) as files as well so people can keep and cherish the old world and all that they built on it.

I like the layout!
And I have 1 question: do we have to put all our items in chests and take them to the city? Or can we wait and twiddle our thumbs and get all our stuff back later?
