As most of you will already know, there is going to be new world once 1.3 hits. Not only is there going to be a new map but a whole new way of playing on the a2z server. As I write Hotshot is working on an exciting new plugin that will allow the community to take more of a roll in how a2z develops.
Basically the plan is to spread new and existing players over the world more evenly to help prevent the griefing and mess we get outside of the main city. We plan to do this by adding 5 new (player managed) towns. New comers will log into the server and spawn in the main a2zopolis city, take the short tutorial and then get presented with 5 portal options that each lead to one of the new towns. Once new comers decide what town they want to live in they can make it their home giving them the right to buy plots, own shops and vote for the next mayor! (it could be you!)
Mayors will be in control of how each town grows and develops by defining plots, choosing how much land costs and purchasing town extensions with the money made by plot sales. Each town will have its own page on the website where the mayors can update it with anything town related. Mayors will be chosen by each towns population on a 30 day cycle, the last 7 days of each 30 term will be for voting in the next mayor.

- Plugs into WorldGuard.
- Admin’s initially establish towns location
- Mayors can define new plots INSIDE town and put them up for sale
- Mayors will probably define plots using Golden Axe similarly to GriefPrevention
- Towns have banks
- When towns bank reaches certain amount, town expansions become available
- Last 7 days of mayor’s 30 day term is election period where new mayor runs for office.
- Players can nominate other players for office.
- Players can only nominate one other player.
- Nominated player must be a member of the town.
- Cost money to nominate a player? (possibly)
- Those that have been nominated and are then running for office can not nominate other players.
- You cant nominate yourself.
GENERAL COMMANDS:
/a2zTowns – shows plugin info
/town help – help
/town all – lists the towns
/town tp [town name] – tp’s to the spawn of said town
COMMANDS FOR PLAYERS WHO BELONG TO TOWN:
/mytown – views info about players home town
/mytown election – views info about election (During election time only)
/mytown nominate [player] – nominates another player for office
/mytown vote [player] – votes for a player running for office
/mytown donate [amount] – donates a certain amount of money to town bank
MAYOR COMMANDS:
/mayor newplot – then proceed to click opposite ends of plot using golden pick

This fancy new plugin isn’t the only new thing coming to a2z either! once 1.3 hits there’s going to be a brand new city, or at least our original city refurbished. We figured it was the best city we ever had so decided to gut it and rebuild the vast majority of it. Everything outside of the city walls is freshly generated 1.3 chunks though so rest assured that you wont be missing out on any of the new 1.3 features. Here is a selection of pictures from the newly refurbished city, we hope you all love it!

New spawn area with simple paths leading to all essential areas.
Additionally please remember that you have the chance to store all your important items in the bank! Don’t complain to us if you never bothered because we will not be able to refund any lost items after the world change. Don’t panic about your coin accounts as these are getting transferred over to the new world.

Would it be possible to transfer a build across? Its not really a build, but It might be by the time the switch happens. I found a double blaze spawner and would really appreciate it if you would transfer them or the farm machine depending on how long until the switch occurs. Its fine if you cant but it would be greatly appreciated ^_^
