Land in the city selling out quickly!

Well after we started selling land in the city last friday things have been quite hectic and all the plots we had fenced off sold within the day!
Saturday morning I set about laying out some more plots and have about 10 more marked out now with prices ranging from 4000 upto 16000 coin. There are only 3 plots left around the main lake in the city center so if you would like one you better get selling stuff to shops or trying your luck in the casino because i cant imagine these sticking around long.
We have decided to sell another area that is large enough for a farm inside the city near the south gate but haven’t set a price for this yet as we only want it to go to somebody who is online a lot.
Located on each corner of the cities walls are towers that we also want to sell. They are priced at 8000 coin each and owners can build a nice tower of their own design as long as it fits in with the design of the city.
We realise that plot prices may be fairly expensive but this keeps people interested in the money system as we dont want money to have no meaning. If your having problems affording land why not pool in with someone else and buy some land together? on the other hand if you would like to add another member to your current plot it only costs 150 coin, all you have to do is ask Joe or myself to set it up for you.

Slime infestation hits the city.

Well i saw my first slime just 3 days ago after the lake in the middle of the city had been taken down to bedrock and to be honest i didn’t even realise they where even still in the game!
The lake had been dug out so that we could add some structures down there to create an underwater base that will eventually be a donator/sponsor only area that will hold the discount shops and things like that. Anyway we got the main structures in that consist of dome like buildings and then decided we would call it a day…
I logged in the next day to find about 15 slimes down there. Really strange why they all spawned together like that but I managed to grab some pictures before we killed them Pretty sure we may have a bit of a problem with them when we start using that area!
Anyone else seen this many slimies in the same place?

Land plots now for sale inside the city.

Players can now buy plots of land inside the city walls to build a nice house, shop or anything they like! Prices are worked out by the floor area in a price per block format. Prices range from 15-25 coin per block dependent on the location and size of the plot. Therefore a 10×10 area at a cost of 20coin per block works out at 2000coin and will grant the owner rights down to bedrock and 10 blocks above ground level. The 10 block hight cap can be raised at extra cost and the only reason we have added this is to try and prevent everyone building up to the hight limit which would really make the city look untidy.
Areas for sale are clearly marked out using fence blocks and there is signs giving details on size and price on one edge of the plot. To purchase a plot players have to go to the real estate office in the city center and follow the instructions inside. In the future we have plans to add a plugin that will allow players to purchase the land via signs rather than a moderator having to grant rights manually.

Introducing the “Blockagio”, we have just finished building our very own casino. With the help of Crash’s Slots plug-in you can now try your luck on our one armed bandits.
The main structure consists of nearly 2500 sandstone blocks, 1500 glass and a few other materials. There is approximately 40 slot machines with prices ranging from 5 to 15 coin and we plan to carry on adding fun ways to win money in there. If you do win a ton of coins why not pop too the real estate office and purchase yourself a nice plot of land or treat yourself to some diamond tools and armour from the local shops.

Every big city needs a courthouse and if its worth building then its worth building correctly. DayninEleven decided she wanted to build this one and to be honest, she was the perfect person to take on this project because of her attention to detail and patience. She wasn’t alone though because Lortang1234 was on hand to help with the huge amount of building that went into this place. The structure consists of approximately 13000 thousand sandstone, 3000 glass and 600 gold block! It took nearly a week to build but the final product simply looks amazing. The inside features the main court room, a cozy wedding chapel and various other rooms including a prison! Above the main courtroom, there is a massive gold block dome that finishes the whole building off inside and outside really nicely. DayninEleven has also installed the scales of justice on the whole back wall of the building that also looks epic.
Our server is public and is economy based.

The first official player owned shop is now open! located opposite the courthouse under the main a2z building and run by lortang1234. All stock is linked directly to the chests in the back of the shop meaning people can buy items directly from his stock even when he isn’t ingame. Players can buy what they need by simply right clicking the appropriate sign behind the counter. The Iconomy ‘Signtrader’ pluggin makes this setup possible so a big thanks to darknesschaos for developing this great pluggin.
Joe and myself have also been building small market like stands around the city that players can buy so that they can sell their own products. these stands will be placeable pretty much anywhere inside or outside of the city walls.
We have now installed a lottery plugin running regular draws too. Pop into one of the lottery booths inside the city to buy a ticket for 20 coin.

Sever is back up and running

We are back up and running on A2Z.Servercraft.co:3185, after this weekends update our bukkit server was down. We have installed Bukkit 617, MC 1.4, WorldGuard 5.0 and Worldedit 4.3 they are all up to date and running well. The city is looking great thanks to the regulars and all the hard work! Just thought we’d keep you posted and let you know how were getting on with out latest video. Space invaders is taking a little longer than we thought, but should be uploading the video tonight. As you can see we have been busy, because of that we’ve not been keeping up with the daily blog for a few days, but the blog will be back on track as of tomorrow!

Work has started on our next video, Space invaders! and after the amount of attention that our pac-man video got we couldnt wait any longer to get stuck into this one.
So far the base has been laid on top of the pac-man level and we have been testing with different size space invaders so that all our proportions are correct before we start shooting video.We are expecting it to take a few days and somewhere in the region of 25 hours to film and edit but a saturday night/sunday release is what we are aiming for. This will also be the first video showing the new logo intro. so a big thanks to jonnysmallz for producing that for us.
