As most of you will already know, there is going to be new world once 1.3 hits. Not only is there going to be a new map but a whole new way of playing on the a2z server. As I write Hotshot is working on an exciting new plugin that will allow the community to take more of a roll in how a2z develops.

Basically the plan is to spread new and existing players over the world more evenly to help prevent the griefing and mess we get outside of the main city. We plan to do this by adding 5 new (player managed) towns. New comers will log into the server and spawn in the main a2zopolis city, take the short tutorial and then get presented with 5 portal options that each lead to one of the new towns. Once new comers decide what town they want to live in they can make it their home giving them the right to buy plots, own shops and vote for the next mayor! (it could be you!)

Ok so we have updated the server! Currently World guard/world edit, Permissions (handles groups) are working even though Simple chat is not (you will not have fancy prefixs). Right now we are uploading all the player data so that hopefully you wont lose your warps and homes.  Once that is done we will be testing all the plugins to see what is and isn’t working.

The user data worked! All your homes and warps are still alive!!!

Just to warn you all, 1.2 is coming soon and we would like to remind you not to update your clients right away if you would like to play on our server right after the update. We only update once bukkit update!

As most of you already know there’s a new shopping complex in the spawn building. The old shops had become to cramped and we simply needed more of them. These new shops are larger, better positioned and will offer owners much better selling potential. The new idea is that shop owners will sell ‘specific’ items. These new shops will tidy up the current player owned shops situation that we currently have with everyone selling a bit of everything, meaning that players can more easily find the items they want to buy without searching through shop after shop. Don’t worry though you will still be able to sell your other items like diamonds ect. Here is a list of shops that we can think of

• Wool and dye vendor (room for 3+ individual shops)
